Security

All neighbors are invited to join the West Paces Neighborhood Association ("WPNA") to support continued Security Patrol protection, enabling West Paces Neighborhood to maintain our low crime rate as compared to other areas of the City of Atlanta.  The more members we have, the more hours our officers can patrol our neighborhood.

Leaving town?

• Be sure to submit an Out of town form!
  
• Contact USPS to hold the mail when you are away: https://holdmail.usps.com/holdmail/
  
• Officers are restricted from handling U.S. mail
• Officers will move packages from your front porch to a more secure place (e.g. carport)

What do  WestPaces Neighborhood Association Members receive?

In addition to the peace of mind that comes from knowing that our neighborhood is sufficiently patrolled, WPNA members receive the following benefits:

• 911 Monitoring - Call 911 in ALL emergencies!  Even though our Security Patrol monitors 911 and will often be the first responders due to their close proximity and familiarity with the neighborhood, please call 911 first for emergencies.
  
• Out of Town Notices - Let our officers know when you will be out of town.  They will check your home twice daily..
  
• Security Decals - Each WPNA member is given decals to display on your mailbox for easy identification to the patrol officers. Officers have a list of all current West Pace Neighborhood Association members.
  
• Added Safety - The Security Patrol adds to the safety and value of everyone's home within the boundaries of the West Paces Neighborhood Association; however, current patrol hours can be maintained, or extended, only with your support.

During the hours the officers are on duty, the Paces Security Patrol officers:

• Monitor 911 via police radio, and can respond immediately when on patrol.
  
• Monitor and investigate suspicious vehicles and persons.
  
• Are off-duty Atlanta Police Officers who can, and do, make arrests.
  
• Provide extra security services when you are away.

How are the Security Patrol officers paid?

• Our West Paces Neighborhood Association membership dues are the sole source of funds for the expense of the daily off-duty police patrols in our neighborhood.  
  
• The greater the neighborhood participation, the more protection we get.
