Why become a member?Security Patrol Services:90% of our dues go to Security, which includes security patrols by off duty Atlanta Police Officers and License Plate Reader Cameras from the Atlanta Police Foundation. Near record-high membership levels allowed us to increase neighborhood security patrol in 2021. The Security Committee worked with local businesses and other neighborhood associations to develop a comprehensive safety plan in light of increased crime this summer Compared to other neighborhood associations in the Buckhead / Sandy Springs area, our crime activity is among the lowest. Remember, the more members we have, the more hours our officers can spend patrolling the neighborhood.Zoning:The Association works closely with government agencies and officials on key zoning and transportation issues that affect our neighborhood. We are the conduit to these groups and are always looking out for the interest of all residents of our neighborhood. In 2021, the Zoning Committee worked with a consultant to evaluate the impact of a proposed Chick Fil A location at Northside Pkwy/Howell Mill and 8-house development at Northside Drive/Moores Mill, and both projects were successfully curtailed. The Committee also raised awareness of the proposed Tuxedo Park traffic plan that would severely impact area traffic - resident response helped delay action by Tuxedo ParkBeautificationWe maintained rose gardens, placed hardscape, and cleaned key spots around the neighborhood (Moore’s Mill, Northside Drive, Pinestream, Northside Parkway, Pine Meadow, Rilman). The Beautification Committee welcomes member input on future projects to consider. Questions?Email Meredith Shaughnessy at meredith.shaughnessy@gmail.com. |
